Short Term Catastrophic Coverage
Are you healthy? Don’t take any medication on a daily basis? Want to have coverage in the event that you have an accident or wind up in the ER? Short term catastrophic plans may be the answer. These plans do not cover pre-existing conditions or prescriptions, but they are designed to cover you in the event that you are hurt or hospitalized due to a new condition.
If you are a resident of Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska, you are able to sign up for four consecutive 90-day plans at once giving you 360 days worth of coverage. There are co-pay plans, prescription coverage and lifetime maximums of up to $1,000,000.
In Kansas, short term catastrophic plans are only available for 90 days. Once the 90 days is up, as long as you have not developed a pre-existing condition you can sign up again! There are a variety of plans and deductibles to choose from to fit your budget.
